I'm back!

Sorry I have been MIA the past couple of weeks. I had been out of work for a few months and just starting going back these past few weeks. I forgot how tiring it is to go back to work! Here is an oldie but a goodie of my crafts. I made this one just a few months ago, so it's really not that old!

My front door is HUGE (tall vs. wide). It is so big that I have to stand on a chair when I want too hang a wreath on a wreath hanger. I wanted something more permanent on my door than a wreath. So I pulled out my trusty Silhouette SD.

I grew up on the East Coast in Massachusetts so I knew that Pineapples were a popular Welcome sign. I told my husband (who grew up in Texas) that I wanted to make a Welcome sign for our front door with a pineapple on it. He of course had to say "Why???" So I looked it up to prove it to him (He's the kind of guy that needs facts). Here is a link about why pineapples are the symbol of Welcome. They stand as a "symbol of hospitality and warm welcome". The link will give you a longer history about the pineapple.

So here is what I made for my front door! Happy President's Day!

Wipe Your Paws

Once I was done with the little projects I was so excited to do with my new Silhouette SD, I decided to come up with some creative vinyl projects. So, I took a picture of my sweet dog, Sammy. (I can't find the actual picture I used for this project, but here is a cute one all the same :))

Then I transformed it into a silhouette. I also downloaded a doggie font that is made out of bones and created a sign to go above his doggie door. Here's what I made. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Sigh, if only he really could (or would) wipe his paws and brush all of the dead grass off his back. Then I wouldn't have to vacuum every day! LOL. It's ok though, we still love him.

Lucky I'm In Love

I'm really in the Valentine's Day mood right now so I've had the song "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat stuck in my head. My husband and I danced to this song at our wedding. I decided to make some wall art inspired by that song. So I pulled out my Silhouette SD and I started out with this:

I found a free clip art image online of outlined hearts. Cut them out with silver vinyl and added them here and then also added the next line:

And then finally I added the last line and some extra hearts:

Love it!
